of Congress Center (AIPC) and
International Congress and Convention
Association (ICCA), BICC is a
facility especially designed for
conferences and exhibitions in
China. |

Situated
in the Asian Games Village in northern
Beijing, BICC adjoins highways with
ideal geographical location and all-round
accessibility. Capital International
Airport is 20 km east of BICC, while
the historical Tian'anmen Square is
9 km to the south. Ten km to the west
is the Summer Palace, and 80 km to the
north is the Great Wall. BICC is near
the planned Olympic Village (for the
Games in 2008).
BICC's total building space is 68802.54
square meters, comprising 50 conference
halls and meeting rooms serving a wide
variety of meeting purposes and accommodating
10 to 2500 participants. The halls are
equipped with seven simultaneous interpretation
systems for 6-10 languages, 4000 receivers,
5 voting systems, 6 television projection
systems, 18 acoustic system, 2 multi-track
stereophonic sound panavision projection
systems, various types of high brightness
epidiascopes and projectors, a live
TV relay system with 4-6 message channels,
recording systems, satellite TV receiving
systems, broad band multimedia network
and a video conference system. The equipment
in the halls can meet the needs of various
conferences. |

The
main conference hall:
The first floor is a multifunctional
hall with a seating capacity of 700.
Together with the second floor, it can
accommodate 2500 people in theater style.
It is equipped with facilities for simultaneous
interpretation in eight languages; large-screen
TV projectors, film and slide projectors,
and stage lighting. It is suitable for
holding the opening and closing ceremonies
as well as the plenary session.
The small
conference rooms:
Equipped with 170 seats, advanced acoustic
system, modern facilities for simultaneous
interpretation in six languages and
TV projectors, it may be used for holding
sessions.
The deluxe
conference room:
Equipped with 48 seats, facilities for
simultaneous interpretation in six languages,
impromptu speech and voting system,
it can be used for holding council meetings
of IMPC. VIP room:
Used for spending break time during
the Congress, meeting VIP and holding
small-scale meetings.
Exhibition
Hall£º
The BICC has three large exhibition
halls with a total floor space of over
9,000 square meters, which can be arranged
for nearly 500 exhibition booths, either
in one space or being divided into a
number of separate spaces. The exhibitions
may be arranged here in conjunction
with conferences. All materials required
for setting up exhibition booths as
well as related services are available.
This exhibition complex provides ample
space for holding the exhibition during
IMPC.
